Friends of Vellore’s projects are aimed at promoting health and welfare of the poor and marginalised. We want to help CMC to ensure that everyone can receive appropriate medical treatment regardless of their ability to pay. We also seek to help CMC in their efforts to help local communities to lift themselves out of poverty. We are funding healthcare workers in the Vellore slums and in the tribal area of the Jawadhi Hills. We are also funding young people from these areas to train in healthcare. The elderly welfare centres we fund not only benefit the elderly who attend, but also provide employment for local women and educate the community on the importance of caring for the elderly.
