Promoting health and welfare of the poor and marginalised
Friends of Vellore UK is a UK-based charity supporting the work of the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore—one of India’s leading teaching hospitals. Founded over a century ago to serve women and the poor who were excluded from healthcare, CMC continues that mission today, providing free or subsidised treatment for thousands of patients in need.
While many who come to CMC can afford their care, a significant number cannot. Without support, they might delay or even avoid treatment altogether. That’s where we step in.
Our Vision
To follow Christ’s example of compassion by helping ensure that everyone has access to healthcare—regardless of wealth, background, or faith.
Our Mission
We work towards this vision by:
Fundraising
Raise funds to support healthcare, education and development projects at CMC that benefit the poorest and most excluded patients and communities
Partnerships
Encourage CMC in its partnership with smaller mission hospitals across India
Promotion
Promote the work of CMC and share news and information for prayer
Bringing hope and healing to those most in need
Friends of Vellore UK supports projects at Christian Medical College Vellore (CMC), and other mission hospitals across India working in partnership with CMC.
