Alternative Christmas Gifts

You might like to consider giving a loved one the gift of a donation to our Safer Birth project in the Jawadhi Hills or the Person to Person Scheme this Christmas.

Our Safer Birth appeal is raising funds for an urgently needed labour ward in the Jawadhi Hills. In the Jawadhi Hills it is often dangerous to give birth and it can take over 12 hours to reach medical help.

The Person to Person scheme enables donors to pay for the cost of an individual patient’s treatment. It is a very cost-effective and personal way of supporting someone who might not otherwise be able to afford essential medical treatment. The recipient of your gift will receive a report from CMC with a patient story and a summary of all those who benefitted.

We have cards for you to let your loved one know all about the difference their gift will make!

100% of your gift will go towards the cost of the relevant project: Safer Birth or Person to Person. Where your gift is eligible for Gift Aid, 20% of the Gift Aid is used to cover our running costs. So if you make a gift aided donation of £100, Friends of Vellore UK can claim £25 in Gift Aid. £120 is allocated to the project and £5 goes towards the charity running costs.
