Who We Are
Friends of Vellore (FOV) UK is a charitable organisation supporting the work of the Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, in Tamil Nadu, South India.

A Legacy of Compassion
CMC Vellore was founded by Dr Ida Scudder, the daughter of an American missionary. Moved by God’s call and the needs she saw around her, she opened a hospital for women and later established a medical college to train female doctors.

CMC Today
From those small beginnings, CMC has grown into one of India’s leading medical college hospitals. It is recognised nationally and internationally for its excellence in healthcare, education, and research. Patients come not only from across India but also from neighbouring countries.
