As CMC Vellore celebrates 125 years of service, the institution honours Dr Ida Scudder’s unwavering dedication to women and children – a legacy which continues to inspire the transformative work carried forward by CMC today.
Throughout this milestone year, CMC conducted free health camps and specialty clinics for around 4,000 people across nearby villages, urban slums and the Central Prison in Vellore.
As part of the celebrations, CMC partnered with Shepherd Films to produce a two-part documentary that tells the remarkable story of Dr Ida Scudder and the founding of CMC Vellore.
Be Thou My Vision – Part 1 was launched in 2024 and has since been watched by thousands of friends, alumni, staff, students, mission network partners and Friends of Vellore supporters worldwide. It has been nominated as a finalist for the Crown Awards (Best Foreign Production) by the International Christian Visual Media Association. Results will be announced in the United States in February 2026.
Today on CMC’s Founder’s Day – Tuesday 9th December 2025 – CMC is releasing Be Thou My Vision – Part 1 online via YouTube, making the story of Aunt Ida accessible to viewers around the world.
