| Friends of Vellore UK is raising funds to support 70 vulnerable elderly people in four rural villages in Tamil Nadu. Right now, every donation to Friends of Vellore UK through our Big Give campaign is being matched pound for pound up to the first £2,000, until Tuesday 9th December 2025. This means that contributions made through our Big Give campaign page will help reach more elderly people in rural Tamil Nadu who are often isolated, malnourished and have little access to healthcare. |
| The day‑care centres, run by CMC Vellore’s Rural Unit for Health and Social Affairs (RUHSA) provide regular meals, basic medical care, physiotherapy and companionship. Without this care, many of these older people would be isolated and vulnerable. Local women cook, care for and watch over them, ensuring ongoing, community‑based support.
